Since I discovered Reiki over 12 years ago, my life has changed in so many ways, and Gandhi's statement resonates deeply with me.As you walk the Reiki path, and follow the principles of Reiki, you begin to have a much deeper understanding about the meaning and purpose of life.Just for Today is a key message in Reiki, and as you bring yourself to this present moment, you begin to realise that this is all there is! The past has already gone and the future has not been created.
This would include sessions of reiki self healing and a deepening of ones personal knowledge of the symbols, what they mean and how to use them.You would then progress to the Reiki Two course and approach it in the same way. And then finally you would take the Reiki Master Course.At that point you will be qualified to teach reiki to others.But on the way you will have discovered an ability within yourself, which we all have in a latent form, to heal both yourself and others.Some claim that a Reiki Master can be made in 48 hours and yes one could take the master attunement in that time period, but you will miss out on all of the vital information and practice which is in the reiki one and two courses the very foundations of Reiki.
Recently I went on a 3 day retreat into nature. It was blissful to have stillness, peace and time to just be! It was also interesting to observe human nature.The pattern that is developing is a constant need for connectivity and activity - despite the surroundings. Even on a remote, peaceful sandy beach, people were on mobile phones, connecting to I-pads, had earphones and music blasting in their ears.. some people were chatting non-stop about the smallest of issues. There is a need for constant action and the lack of silence and peace in life.

Starting Your Reiki Training.The main point is that you can become a reiki master. The decision is which route you want to take.I took the home study option, simply because it fitted in with my life better and the cost was much less.And I have to say that I am very happy with the training I received. The course has excellent email support and friends who took the other option of the weekend class have told me that there is much more information in the distance learning package.And of course I have all of the talks in MP3 format so I can listen to them again if I feel there is something I missed the first time through.The main thing is this...If you want to learn reiki you should go ahead and get started. I found it to be a wonderful adventure and I now know that I can help both myself and others in a real and lasting way.
As a Master I believe that it is important to continue to learn and be a student of life, and to remain humble. While I don't like the terms 'responsibility' and 'duty', I think it is a great thing if we can contribute to the wellbeing of the planet.Since our personal energetic vibration makes a difference, improving it is a blessing to the planet.Improve Your Meditation.As humans, we are programmed to move towards pleasure and away from pain.For meditators this is often a problem because we can so easily be sidetracked by the stream of 'bigger and better' plans our mind constantly offers us.In other words, it tells us that if we will only listen to it a little longer it can show us a way to either experience greater pleasure or avoid pain.
As a rule, it is difficult to resist the incredible magnetism of our mind's ideas; but there is at least one simple defence: anchor yourself in a state of great pleasure.Now, I know the meditation purists will object to this. They will say that you are being distracted by meaningless sensations; but the truth is you can actually use these sensations to help ground you in the present moment - the very thing even these critics will admit is the essence of meditation.How then can you anchor yourself in a pleasurable / blissful state?Connect to energy and then rest in the energetic sensations that arise.Since Reiki is all about energy, improving it means a greater connection to energy. This, in turn, means a greater ability to use this energy to BE in the present moment without being lured out of it by the mind.
True Mastery comes when you interact with clients, and in the moment have to make decisions and give advice that makes a difference. I advise students that their real learning begins the moment they take a client who they do not know. It is easy practicing on family and friends... the true learning comes with a walk in client you do not know.You gain awareness about your own ability, your confidence, knowledge, and ability to help others... you also get real life feedback about the Reiki you have given and how it feels.
Charity Work,If doing charity work is your thing, then becoming a Reiki master is a great step in the right direction.Not only will you gain access to far more opportunities due to your new credentials, you will also be able to empower anyone you meet with the gift of Reiki.As an example, right now I am working on a trip to Africa that aims to attune up to 1000 locals. For that purpose I need as many Reiki Masters as possible to accompany me.Could you be one of them?Whether anyone can become a Reiki Master in the truest sense of the term is debatable.Certainly the founder of Reiki, Mikao Usui, never saw himself as a realized master of the art.What Master Level really does, therefore, is initiate you into the realm of Reiki Mastership. It teaches your techniques and skills that you will then need to go away and work on for months, years and perhaps even the rest of your life.In that sense, you never really feel that you've 'made it' as a Reiki Master.But, with consistent practice, you do notice changes in yourself - sometimes big, sometimes small - that ultimately make a huge difference to the way you experience the world.
